Coffee with Randy Komisar

We met Randy Komisar, author of "The Monk and the Riddle" at the Kleiner Perkins HQ in Palo Alto today. It was a fascinating interview, that I got on tape.

a new quarter and the shark tank

the winter quarter was a bloodbath, literally.

but i think i learnt quite a lot about the true value of a business. here are some nuggets:

1. accounting is as much an art as it is about numbers. lets just say if Michaelangelo was a mathematician he would most surely be an accountant.

2. we met Jim Fowler for dinner in Mountain View. Terrific perspective on how to build a business and run it.

the realization after the news sinks in..

So, I am officially an FEMBA student now, or rather I will be as soon as I pay that 1500 dollar deposit. The journey officially starts today as I trudge back to LA from my home in San Fran to get a validation on my transcripts and my certificates of the past. After a mid week trip to Sacramento which was nothing but a wild goose chase ( literally), my back hurts, my legs are numb so this trip seems more a pain than anything else.

But the Bruins await me, and the sooner I get this started the better it is for me.

So let the journey of a thousand miles start today..with 1 tiny step...
